Thanks for clarifying. At first glance, the points you propose seem eminently reasonable and cannot be disputed. However, the real issue here is not what we "should" but what we "can".
Re contacting NumbersUSA and FAIRUS, do go ahead but I'm certain there is no chance of them holding hands with us and singing 'Kumbaya'. The discussions and postings on those sites look like they have been written up by "Ed Anger" of the World World News :D
And re toning down immigration bills to our advantage, you have to recognize that the primary issue is not that a bill will be passed which will not be optimal - the issue is whether any bill will be passed at all.

We should clearly adopt a position against any bill which supports amnesty and offer a sensible, reasonable and fair quantitative increase in Employment Visa numbers. An example of reasonable proposals would be temporary increase of visa numbers, elimination of visa lottery and reallocation of visa numbes to EB, visa number recapture.

8/2: Infopass Appointment @ San Jose -- IO bought the file to the counter and asked for EVL and also a letter from company stating they support my I140.
I work for Top 5 company in Silicon valley. Company attorney got the required documents in 3 days. IO also generated FInger Printing appointment the same day.
8/11: Infopass Appointment @ San Jose -- Submitted the EVL and other documents given by the company. IO made copies of our Finger Printing notice.
8/19: Infopass Appointment @ San Jose -- Officer checked the status of our case and indicated visa number has been assigned. Files are with the same officer.
8/20: Card Production ordered for my wife and myself.
{ 10 yr + 6 Months in this country ( F1 - Masters - H1 - Green Card)

Dividing IV on the Lines on EB2 or EB3 or on basis of ROW/India is something i just dont like. United we stand !!!!!! .
I saw couple of threads earlier from you which talks against porting of EB3 to EB2 - i believe you had some lawsuit idea there for not allowing BS+5 to port to EB2 which is think i highly divisive and unfair on certain peoples
Lets come up with ideas without stepping on each others shoe and i'm 100% willing to join.
Here is what I propose:
1. Any one with good english language skill : Can you please volunteer to draft a letter stating the issue....
2. Please contact your lawyers to see if they have contact in AILA.
3. Please contact you state chapter leader to discuss what can be done from IV stand point. I live in tri state and will contact. Murali or Chandrakanth

With out IV, The only two things folks on the hill knew were illegal immigration and H1B visa. Now more than 75% offices know the EB issue inside out and have a position on it. This is an effort that needs to be continued until we get a solution.
This in itself is a stupendous achievement and IV has made it possible. 2 or 3 years back you had NO VOICE. Now you have IV. Thats enough reason contribute and feel involved in the community effort.

My PD is April 2 2004 EB2 (US educated for the idiot who tried to divide us b/w US and non US educated)
As a token of appreciation - I have contributed $100 to IV just now.Receipt ID: 1467-8132-5592-9911. Request all of those who get GC this month to contribute some $ amount. If the Skil bill gets approved in the senate, when is it going to come to effect? Will the Cap increase for this year oct1 2006 to sept 31st 2007. And for the students who have already recieved their OPTs, will their OPT duration increase to 24 month? The bill for doubling of H1bs, is it the same as the SKil bill or a different one? when is that coming to effect?

when american's from such third rate schools are not getting jobs, do you seriously think foreigners with their funny accents and relatively poor English communication skills (I'm Indian and can tell you its still a second language to me) can get jobs??

Here is something to note:
Accepting I485 along with a pending I-140 is part of the rule making by USCIS and so they may choose to change the rule back to "not accept I485 until an I140 petition is approved" just like that good ol' days before 2002, if they want.
But, I don't think they would do that as they need all the money that is being generated by EAD/AP.:rolleyes:

Once you abandon H1B and get canadian PR, you will need visitor visa to come back to US. My friend did that he comes quite often to visit us.

I don't know if IV is already doing it But the i think it is Good idea to call into Good Syndycates talk shows and let America hear about our Concerns and the Unfairness in the proposed Bill.
